Robert A. Heinlein,
Isaac Asimov og
Arthur C. Clarke (de tre store).
Følgende bøker i bokhyllen min er arkivert under Science Fiction og ble skrevet mellom 65 og 89:
 | The Boat of A Million Years | Poul Anderson | | | Poul Anderson's "The Boat of a Million Years" certainly has a lot of promise and a very interesting premise, (as the amount of times things have been written or filmed about immortals stands testament). However, I would shy from saying that the book was excellent, though I did enjoy it. | | The Gods Themselves | Isaac Asimov | | | Winner of the Hugo Award and Nebula Award. | | Gold: The Final Science Fiction Collection | Isaac Asimov | | | It doesn't seem like the other reviewers read the same book that I did. The book I read consisted of a lot of self-congratulatory essays on Asimov's creation of the Three Laws of Robotics (which aren't really laws, but that's a topic for a different rant) punctuated by a bunch of shaggy-dog stories... | | Ender's Game (Ender Quartet) | Orson Scott Card | | | In order to develop a secure defense against a hostile alien race's next attack, government agencies breed child geniuses and train them as soldiers. A brilliant young boy, Andrew "Ender" Wiggin lives with his kind but distant parents, his sadistic brother Peter, and the person he loves more than an... | | We Can Remember It for You Wholesale (Collected Stories: Volume 5) | Philip K. Dick | | | In May of 1987 Underwood-Miller published a five volume set titled "The Collected Stories of Philip K. Dick", with the second volume being subtitled "Second Variety". In September of 1990 the Carroll Group republished the second volume with a few of changes including changing the subtitle to "We Ca... | | THE HEAVEN MAKERS | Frank Herbert | ![]() | | | | Seeking the Mythical Future | Trevor Hoyle | ![]() | | | | Isaac Asimov's Odyssey: Robot City: Book1 (Isaac Asimov's Robot City, Book 1) | Michael P. Kube-Mcdowell | | | "Odyssey" is Book #1 in the "Isaac Asimov's Robot City" series. Written in the 1980's, this was apparently the first novel to take place in Asimov's robot universe that was not written by Asimov himself. | | Star Wars | George Lucas | | | "'I want to come with you to Alderaan,' Luke said, resolved. 'I want to become a Jedi like my father.'" This marks the start of Luke Skywalker's involvement with the Rebellion in George Lucas's grand narrative of good versus evil, Star Wars. You know the story, you've seen the film--but this... | | A Talent For War | Jack McDevitt | | | The uncle of a dealer of antiquities, Alex Benedict, dies and leaves him his fortune. The uncle was a prominent, if controversial, amateur archaeologist and was working on a project that could have Galactic repercussions. Benedict slowly becomes entangled in his uncle's work after he travels to hi... | | Gateway (Heechee Saga) | Frederik Pohl | | | Pohl's classic Gateway novel has an interesting premise that lends itself to tales of space exploration and discovery a la Star Trek. Unfortunately, Pohl never goes this route. Instead of discovering new planets, new technology, or new lifeforms he focuses almost exclusively on the protagonist's psy... | | Lord of Light (Millennium SF Masterworks S) | Roger Zelazny | | | In the 1960s, Roger Zelazny dazzled the SF world with what seemed to be inexhaustible talent and inventiveness. Lord of Light, his third novel, is his finest book: a science fantasy in which the intricate, colorful mechanisms of Hindu religion, capricious gods, and repeated reincarnations are... | | The Embedding | Ian Watson | | | In terms of interesting ideas, this book is one of the best in SF I have read. If you are even vaguely interested in language theory, you will like the interesting twists the author gives to the ideas in that field. In terms of developing these ideas to their full potential, the book is not so good.... | | Tomorrow's Alternatives (Frontiers 1) | Various, Roger Elwood, Frank Herbert | ![]() | | |
